Mads West is an Award-Winning Lighting Designer based in NYC.

Born and raised in Benton, Arkansas, they moved from audience member to theatre geek in high school. They went on to be an Honors Graduate from Southern Arkansas University earning their B.F.A. in Theatre with a minor in Communications Design. At SAU, Mads was named the Outstanding Graduating Student for the Department of Performing Arts & Mass Communication and became the first of the department to be named the College of Liberal and Performing Arts Outstanding Graduating Student.

Mads recently graduated from Indiana University with an M.F.A. in Lighting Design and Technology. They are interested in research in sustainable theatre practices and designing stories centering the experiences of womxn, queer life, and the Global Majority.

When not in a theatre, you can find Mads crocheting, reading queer fantasy, or planning their next D&D Campaign.
